CATS Cambridge, Cambridge Arts & Sciences

School Profile

CATS Cambridge is a co-educational, sixth-form college, housed in six buildings and brand new facilities, in the heart of Cambridge. The city's academic tradition and vitality enrich the lives of all CATS students who utilise the facilities at the famous Cambridge Union, located opposite the College, for libraries, meetings and socialising.

CATS offers an adult environment that acknowledges individuality and maturity - "managed independence" is the focus. Within this approach great care is taken to provide a secure, safe structure in terms of where and how students live and learn. A broad GCSE timetable is programmed and sixth formers can select their A-level courses from the 49 on offer. All students are taught in groups of between three and eight, the emphasis being on individual attention. Tutors also develop study skills, the command of English and examination technique.

Commitment to academic achievement is rigorous whilst career and university entrance planning is sensitive, professional and comprehensive. CATS is proud of its 100% success rate for University entrance with more than one third of CATS applicants winning places at The Times Top 20 UK since 2005.
