Pastoral Care

What provision do colleges make for pastoral care?

In addition to individual tutorial sessions, colleges may have Student Welfare Officers whose role is to help with non-academic problems and to support young people in what may be their first experience of independent living.

Parents should be aware that students are required to register with a doctor near to their lodgings, if the college is not located in their home town.

International students who have not lived away from home before may need some extra support and advice and, if aged under 18, guardians must be appointed.
