School Profile

d'Overbroeck's College is a co-educational college based in north Oxford, known for its high quality teaching. The lower school in Leckford Place is a day school for pupils aged 11-16. The Sixth Form is on a separate site in Banbury Road.

There is a broad and flexible curriculum to build on students’ interests and ambitions; for example, at AS and A level there are nearly 40 subjects to choose from. The teaching is interactive and motivating. The average class size is 7 in the sixth form (maximum 10) and is a maximum of 15 in the lower school. Students' performance is regularly assessed and a systematic academic monitoring system helps students, parents and teachers track progress.

The College aims to provide a stimulating environment in which learning is enjoyable as well as successful. The atmosphere is informal (for example no uniforms in the Sixth Form) but ambitious, with the aim of giving the students the confidence and skills to succeed.

D’Overbroeck’s offers a wide range of extra-curricular programme; for example, in the Sixth Form the options include Art, Basketball, Cricket, College Magazine, Dance, Debating, Drama, Duke of Edinburgh, Enterprise club, Environmental Awareness club, Football, Hockey, Music, Netball, Rugby, Rounders, Rowing, Swimming, Tennis, etc. Students also benefit from the many educational and cultural activities in Oxford.
